IT'S BURGER TIME

1) America's Test Kitchen recently visited New York City's famous (and "Frankie" recipient) Shake Shack and applied their scientific approach to reproduce their famous burger. We have to report having the best burger we've had in months.

See our review in the wife's food blog: http://darlajeanwebster.blogspot.com/2010/08/americas-test-litchen-recreates-shake.html

I should also point out that I'm fairly disgusted with what the fast food chains produce, especially here, and that I can't really have beef (or shell fish, booze, sweets, nuts, dark green veggies, garlic, grapefruit or grapefruit juice, etc, etc, etc because of my various ailments, conditions, etc) so this burger was a great treat for me...

2) We've been trying to check out the foot long burger from Carl's Jr. but haven't had any success in locating any of the 50 SoCal locations the company is test marketing them from, despite a request for more information (they said they'd get back to us but...).

4) Congratulations! It's a new Hodad's!

We're getting a Hodad's in downtown San Diego sometime soon (not exactly sure yet). It will be their second location and they do produce a World Class burger, marvelous "frings" and a milk shake to die for (literally).
