American Coney Island -vs- Lafayette Coney Island in Detroit

This episode is near and dear to old Uncle Frank for a number of reasons.

To start with, he was born in Dearborn, just outside of Detroit while his dad worked in Henry Ford's steel mills there right after World War II.

And essentially, our chili dog recipe is derived from Coney Island sauce via the Little Hut in Toledo, Ohio, where his mom Lucille worked for many, many years serving the same recipe to thousands of Toledo's Finest, bus drivers, firemen, garbage men, Willys Jeep factory workers, etc...

Lafayette and American are side by side, smack in the middle of downtown Detroit, founded by two brothers almost 100 years ago and it's a long time rivalry which this program appears custom made to resolve once and for all (or not).
